Bruxism is a condition characterised by teeth grinding and excessive clenching of the jaw. It usually occurs at night during sleep and can cause dental issues, headaches, and an increase in the size of the masseter (chewing) muscles. This results in a widening of the jawline and a square appearance of the face, which may not always be a desired look (especially in females).
Muscle relaxants are injected into the masseters and will take up to 4-6 weeks to relax. This is due to the large size of masseter muscles. Results can last up to 6 months, or even a year after repeated treatments.
