Dermal Filler FAQ
The filler is injected into the skin to soften or fill wrinkles and to add volume to soft tissue.
Lips, cheeks, jaw, chin, nasolabial folds, marionette lines (downward turned smile) and fine lines.
Lip fillers last approximately 6 months and some fillers used in other areas last from 12-18 months.
Yes, you will. They will be swollen for a day or two and then the swelling will go down.
There may be lumps for up to 4 weeks, but they will feel like real lips – even when kissing!
We’re all unique individuals and our lips are too. You won’t look exactly like your favourite celebrity, but we tailor your procedure to your desired goals.
It feels like a pinch and stings a little as the filler is injected. We can provide numbing cream so you feel as little discomfort as possible.
Not necessarily. You can go about your day normally afterwards, but shouldn’t make any big plans for at least 3 days to let the bruising go down.
Swelling, bruising, redness and tenderness for the following 1-3 days is normal. We are available for follow-up consultations if you have any concerns.
Skin Needling FAQ
The Dermapen Microneedling Pen provides a segmented delivery of microneedles, creating micro injuries to the outer and inner layers of skin. As a result, the micro injuries encourage the body to repair itself.
Treatments can reduce the signs of ageing; improve the appearance of acne and other scarring; reduce the appearance of pigmentation; and encourage and regenerate collagen and elastin.
The Dermapen has variable needle depths, so it can be used on most body parts, including the face, neck, décolletage, hands, stomach, legs and arms.
30-45 minutes in-clinic. An anesthetic may be applied prior which you will need to allow a little extra time for.
For the following 1-2 days your skin will most likely be red and flushed (like if you were mildly sunburnt). It may feel tight or slightly sensitive to touch.
Usually it takes up to 5-8 weeks. But the wait is worth it as your results will continue to improve over the next 12 months.
Each person’s skin conditions are different, and a consultation is required to give you your personal treatment plan. 3 to 5 treatments, every 4-6 weeks is a common time-frame.
It is best you go #makeupfree for the following 24 hours.
Anti-Wrinkle Injections FAQ
Hospital grade sterile protein that is naturally derived from bacteria. The protein, once injected underneath the skin, relaxes wrinkle causing muscles to give a more rejuvenated and younger appearance.
There is minimal discomfort. Patients describe the feeling as a slight sting or bite.
We administer tiny injections into the muscles surrounding a wrinkle through a tiny needle, blocking the nerve impulses that trigger wrinkle causing contractions.
On rare occasions there may be slight drooping to the area or nearby areas.
We aim for a more natural, relaxed appearance but everyone is different. That is why we would rather put less in at your first appointment and have you come back in 2 weeks for a follow up where you may want more. You can always add but you can’t take away.
Approximately 3-5 days later you will start to notice but the full effects tend to be 2 weeks later. Therefore we recommend a follow up.
Most people have some reduction from 3-6 months post-treatment. To maintain your youthful appearance and to reduce the chances of strong static lines, we recommend treatment every 3-4 months.
Each person and every goal is different. To determine your correct dosage, a consultation with our team is required.
Chemical Peel FAQ
A chemical peel is a treatment that improves the appearance and feeling of the skin using exfoliating agents to disrupt the skin’s barrier, then causing the skin’s regeneration.
Sun damage, fine lines & wrinkles, pore size, hyperpigmentation, diffused redness and vascularity, pore size, superficial scaring and thickened skin.
Skin should be prepped prior to most peels. We recommend the Aspect Dr Basic Starter Kit as well as Sun Protection from 2-4 weeks prior. Additional regimes may be advised by your clinician. This will help you get the best results and avoid adverse reactions.
We stock a range of peels to suit different skin types and individuals but peels will not be used on broken, irritated skin or rashes.
Pregnant, breastfeeding or those with darker skin types may only be suited to our 20% Lactobotanical Peels.
Please book in for a full consultation prior to the treatment in order to discuss in greater depth.
